Novo Sancti Petri was an abandoned fishing village which has been developed into a purpose built resort providing a shopping precinct, supermarket, pharmacy, bank, and many other retail outlets, cafes, restaurants and bars.

A wide range of sporting/leisure facilities are available, including the renowned 36 hole Ballesteros designed golf course Novo Sancti Petri and the very new Lomas Sancti Petrie and Melia Santa Petrie. In fact 4 great courses within 4 or 5 kilometres. its a great place for cycling; the area is very flat and there is also a riding school. The La Barrosa beach runs in front of the resort and it is absolutely beautiful and many of the golf courses have great sea views.
