Parador
Inaugurated in 1925 by the Spanish Royal family, Parador is the Costa del Sol's oldest course. Located close to Malaga, it's very popular with UK golfers due to its interesting mixture of parkland and links style holes (some of which feature seawater lagoons) and its fast greens. Created by Tom Simpson, who also designed Muirfield and Turnberry, Parador has hosted several international events, including the prestigious Turespana Masters in 1999 (won by Miguel Angel Jimenez). It's easy to walk and is suitable for all levels of golfer, though some holes present a real challenge - especially when the wind blows. 9 more holes have recently been added, bringing the total to 27.The par 72 course is fairly long -- with long par threes and fours and reasonable par fives. Parador Malaga Golf is an easy walk, being rather flat, and has wide fairways lined with mature pines, olive trees and palm trees.
